NZPA Exposure
by James on Aug.18, 2006, under Laptop Theft
Well, the Greystar uploaded the story to their NZPA links, which most radio stations get hold of. This morning it was broadcast on ZM news, and most of the NewstalkZB stations (Classic Hits, Radio Sport etc). I hadn’t heard from the Police since the whole thing started until yesterday, and today we had three of them come in the store. NewstalkZB rang me twice to ask about it, and the main questions they were asking was about what the police had done. We also made front page of the Westport News today (Which appears to have the collective reporting skills similar to my left big toe), you can download that here.
To be perfectly honest, I’m feeling kind of guilty. Don’t get me wrong, this kind of exposure is awesome and I completely and fully hope that we catch this guy out, but we’re a business. What gets me is that on the day that this laptop was stolen, and every day inbetween, several people/families would have had their homes completely ransacked, with no hope of finding who it was that committed the crime, and no chance of getting their things back.
Will keep this updated as events unfold…

Now Now Mr Hippy, I don’t think you’re one to take the high ground on copyright infringement.
What’s the story here?

Looks like you’ve ripped off MY video (Claiming you have permission? When on earth did I give you permission?), and someone has had a go at you about the sound track, and you’ve in turn had a go at me? Man, what a laugh!
It only takes a 5 second Google to find several dozen copyright infringements on your case. Maybe you should stick back to harassing ignorant drivers, since that’s such a good use of spare time… Or something, heh.
